The aim of the Guidance and Psychological Counseling program is to educate counselors who are at peace with themselves, aware of their own characteristics and potentials, capable of establishing healthy relationships, competent in their field and current issues, able to generate solutions to the problems of their community, and able to instill positive values in society.
The field of guidance and psychological counseling provides similar services not only in educational institutions but also in healthcare, social services, industry, justice, and military institutions/organizations. Our educational curriculum is designed to meet these needs. A theory and practice-oriented education plan is adopted to ensure that our students have a competent formation both personally and professionally. The courses are designed to develop knowledge and skills in guidance, counseling, human relationships, stress management, educational planning, and process evaluation, in order to prepare teacher candidates for the profession.
Our students who graduate with the title of Psychological Counselor/Guidance Teacher can work in public and private schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, public institutions and private organizations, hospitals, Children Protection Agency, nursing homes, nurseries, courts and correctional facilities affiliated with the Ministry of Justice, rehabilitation centers, centers performing psychotechnical evaluations, forensic medicine institutions, advertising companies, and similar wide-ranging fields. They can also continue their postgraduate education at our university or in domestic and international institutions. Thus, our graduates can take on roles as academics or experts in relevant departments, institutes, and research centers.
